How We Transformed This 2024 Ford Bronco Into an Overlanding Powerhouse (Copy)

What do you get when you take a rugged 2024 Ford Bronco and give it an electrical system built for adventure?

You get one seriously capable overlanding rig that’s ready to tackle off-grid life without breaking a sweat.

We recently had the pleasure of building out the power system for a client’s Bronco, and we wanted to give you a peek under the hood (and under the seats, and behind the panels 😉) to show you what went into this beast.

The Heart of the System: 300Ah Heated Lithium Battery

At the core of the build is a 300 amp-hour Epoch lithium battery—and this isn’t just any battery. It’s self-heated, meaning even in colder conditions, this thing will stay warm and ready to crank out power.

Translation?
The owner can run appliances, lights, a fridge, or even charge up a laptop or camera gear for days without worrying about running out of juice.

Smart Charging with Redarc Alpha 50R

Next up, we added some serious brains to the system with Redarc’s Alpha 50R DC-to-DC charger.

  • It’s a 50-amp alternator charger, so every time the Bronco’s driving, the alternator helps top off the lithium battery.

  • No solar yet? No problem. But if solar panels ever get added in the future, this charger is already set up to manage them.

  • Super cool bonus: bidirectional charging. When the auxiliary battery is full, it’ll start charging back to the coach battery.

  • And—this is one of our favorite features—it will also do a jump start. If the coach battery is dead, you can actually pull power from the 300Ah lithium to restart the vehicle. No more worrying about getting stranded deep in the backcountry.

Next-Level Power Distribution: Redarc Rogue

Managing all this power is the Redarc Rogue power distributor, one of the newest and slickest components on the market.

  • No more fumbling with physical fuses—this baby uses electronically resettable fuses.

  • If a fuse trips, you can just reset it right from the display or even from your phone via the Redarc app.

  • It has 10 fuse slots—we only used 4 for this build, leaving plenty of room for future expansion (think lights, winch, air compressor, you name it).

Big Power for Big Adventures: 3000W Renogy Inverter

Finally, we installed a Renogy 3000-watt inverter to give the owner serious 120V AC power on demand.

  • Want to run a blender? Done.

  • Charge power tools? No problem.

  • Plug in a laptop or even a small coffee maker at basecamp? Easy.

Final Thoughts

This Bronco is now ready to hit the road (or the trail, or that remote desert camp) with all the comforts of modern power in a self-sufficient package.

👉 The best part? The system is totally expandable. As the owner adds more gear or decides to install solar down the road, this rig is ready to grow with them.
