Over the past year, we’ve seen a noticeable increase in Class B motorhomes coming into our shop and the majority of them are here for the same reason: electrical system problems.

If you’re dreaming about van life, it’s easy to jump straight into the exciting parts, scrolling listings, ordering parts, sketching layouts, and imagining your first road trip. But if we could encourage every potential van owner to do just one thing before all of that, it would be this:

When something isn’t working in your van the instinct is often to jump straight to repairs. But in our experience, that approach usually costs more time, more money, and more frustration than necessary.

When a client drops off their van for an upgrade, repair, or new install, they usually see one thing when they return: a clean, finished product that works the way it should. Lights turn on. Heaters fire up. Power flows exactly where it’s supposed to.

There’s no question that van life looks simple and affordable, travel freely, sleep anywhere, and eliminate traditional living expenses. And while parts of that are true, we also see the side of van ownership that doesn’t make it onto social media.
